Suspect by Robert Crais

Suspect by Robert Crais is a skillfully developed police novel. After barely surviving a shooting that claimed the life of his partner, L.A. policeman Scott James leaves patrol car duty to join the canine division. There he teams up with Maggie, an ex-marine German shepherd wounded in Afghanistan. While Scott and Maggie are still in training, Scott is invited by detectives to contribute to the investigation of the incident that dramatically changed his life. A special bond develops between them as they deal with post traumatic stress disorder and an increasingly dangerous case.
