Drop Dead Healthy: One Man’s Humble Quest for Bodily Perfection by A. J. Jacobs
A couple of years ago, I tried to read a book because of the cover and the title. After several attempts, I stopped. However, a few weeks ago, I saw a similarly titled book by the same author and thought I’d give it a shot. I did and managed to finish it at the cost of staying up until the wee hours of the morning.
“Drop Dead Healthy” by A. J. Jacobs is insightful and entertaining. The book outlines, Jacob’s attempt to become the healthiest man in the world. He literally has every major part of his body examined, prodded, and or checked out by some of the top experts in the country. For those who care, many of them live in the New York area.
How much weight can a person lose while walking on a treadmill and typing? What is lung-packing and how did David Blaine use it to hold his breath for seventeen minutes and four seconds? What are Physique 57, Strollercise, and HIIT? To find out, read the book.
Now I am going to go back and finish reading the other book.
